The Almighty God is an eternal and immortal being. He is self-existing, and that means He exists independently by Himself. He is the creator of all things, both the visible and the invisible things. He inhabits and controls all eternity. It will do us good when we understand these facts about God. The true wisdom comes only when we know these truth about the Almighty, and live our lives based on the understanding of His eternal Word.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. [Proverbs 9:10] NIV.
People make themselves fools when they choose not to believe in the God who created them. They pursue vanity which ends here on earth, and disregards the counsel and commandment of the Maker of their souls, who all mankind shall face in eternity for accountability and Judgement.
The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. [Psalm 14:1] NIV.
Now let us examine the book of Genesis 1. These chapter of Genesis gives account of the creation, and it reveals to us some of the attributes of God Almighty. The Creator is the God of Wisdom, Power, and Orderliness.
God’s Sovereignty and Power
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)
The Almighty is the creator of all things, and has the ultimate authority and power to do all things. All things exist by His will and power, and He is in control of our lives, and the entire universe. Any other voice that speaks otherwise speaks lies, and shall perish beneath the earth whether they are human or spirit beings.
But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath. “Tell them this: ‘These gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the heavens.’” But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. [Jeremiah 10:10-12] NIV.
The Power of God’s Word
“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3)
The Word of God is powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword as the scripture says. Nothing can withstand the power in God’s Word. His eternal Word has not failed, and can never fail. Jesus said, the heaven and the earth shall pass away, but His word will never pass away. We see how God commanded the light into existence, and demonstrated the power in His Word. The same God and His Word of power is in action today.
“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” [Mark 9:23] NIV.
“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? [Jeremiah 32:27] NIV.
For with God nothing shall be impossible. [Luke 1:37] KJV.
The truth that the power of God is limitless, and that He has the ability to fulfil any promise or accomplish any task should ignite the faith and hope in you as a believer in Christ.
We see this Power in the Word of God demonstrated by Jesus Christ when He raised from the dead Lazarus, the daughter of Jarius and the only son of the widow at Nain; when He healed the paralysed man, open the eyes of the blinds, made the deaf to hear, made the dumb to speak, cast out demons from those who were possessed, walked on the sea and command the wind and the waves of the sea and they obeyed Him.
If you believe and trust in the power of the Word of God, you shall see the wonders of God’s Word in your life. Only pray and believe, and you shall receive what you have asked in the name of Jesus Christ.
Order and Purpose in Creation
The days of creation (days 1 – 6) follows a calculated, structured, and intentional pattern, showing that God Almighty is a God of orderliness. He is a God of order and purpose, and not of chaos and disarray. God created us for a purpose, a good purpose for that matter. The scriptures tells us that God has plans for every one of us, and that He has created us for His pleasure, that we should bring Him glory.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. [Jeremiah 29:11] NIV.
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. [Revelation 4:11] KJV.
As a believer in Christ, you should allow the Spirit of God to order your steps daily so that your ways shall be fruitful and pleasing to God. This is God’s purpose for your life, and the very reason Jesus Christ died on the cross, and rose again from the dead for our victory.
The Goodness of God’s Creation
“God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31)
God’s intentions for you and all mankind are good as reflected in His declaration after creation. We should be grateful to the LORD for whom He is, and for how much He has loved and blessed us. We as followers of Christ should ever be thankful to God in words, and in actions for sending Christ the Lord to save us from our sin, and for preserving us for eternal life with Him in Heaven.
God created Adam and Eve, and bestowed His glory upon them, and for disobedient they lost the goodness and glory of God in Eden because they had agreed with the devil to sin.
The fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden should warn all believers in Christ never to be in agreement with the devil for anything, no matter how he tempts you.
Rather, we encourage you to be in agreement with the Spirit of God whom Christ has sent to us to teach us to do the will of God. Let us preserve the nature and the beauty of Christ in us as we obey the will of God in our lives.
Humanity’s Divine Image and Purpose
“So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27)
All human beings are created in the image of God and we are admonished to be like God in righteousness, dominion and power, and to reflect His character in all we do. All believers in Christ are called to be children of God, and should live in ways that honor God. The scripture says that we are god and His children, therefore we should be like our Father in heaven.
I said, “You are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High. [Psalm 82:6] NKJV.
That you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. [Matthew 5:45] NIV.
Men are made gods when they align themselves with the purpose and plans of God for their lives, and are in total obedience to the will of God. They are made god by the Almighty God, and you can be made god today by God to act on His behalf anywhere you are – family, offices and nations.
We see Elijah shut up heaven and there was no rain on the earth for three years and six months, and the same Elijah prayed to God to bring rain on the earth, and there was rain.
We also see Moses do wonders in all the land of Egypt, divided the Red Sea because he align himself with the purpose of God for his life, and in total obedience to His will.
You can be the next Elijah, or another Moses to act on the behalf of God on the earth, if you align yourself to the plans and purpose of God in your life, and in total obedience to the will of God.
Rest as Part of God’s Design
We know that God rested on the seventh day as recorded on Genesis 2:2. This He did to show mankind that rest is very important in life, and this is to be observed. We as believers in Christ should practice the act of resting a period of time per day in the presence of God. It should be our Habit for spiritual growth and maturity. The Psalmist through the Spirit of God wrote as follows. He was joyful to hear the plan of going to the presence of the Most High God.
I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” [Psalm 122:1] NIV.
We should be glad and happy to be in the presence of God, and to have fellowship with the Most High because there is liberty, deliverance, joy, peace and salvation when we have fellowship with the Father, and His dear Son, Jesus Christ.
Light Overcoming Darkness
We are aware that the darkness cannot comprehend the light, that is to say light always overcome darkness. When light appears, darkness disappears completely. The Bible says that there is no fellowship between light and darkness. Light symbolizes truth, and the presence of God who shines through and brings succour and hope to those who put their trust in Him.
No matter how dark your life may be, the light of God is able to illuminate your life and path, and ushers you into victory in the name of Jesus Christ if you believe.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” [John 8:12] NIV.
Accepting to walk with Jesus Christ in righteousness means accepting life and the light that overcomes every darkness of this life; and rejecting Christ as Lord and Savior means rejecting light and saying yes to the devil and the kingdom of darkness – an action that will condemn you to death forever in eternity.
If you believe and trust in Jesus Christ you shall not walk in darkness, but shall be full of light that overcomes every darkness of this world.
Stewardship of Creation
“God blessed them and said, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.’” (Genesis 1:28)
The Almighty God entrusts humanity with caring for all that He has created. This responsibility teaches us stewardship as children and servants of God, as we must give account of our service here on the earth.
If God has honoured us with such great responsibility over the works of His hand, then we should be sober and faithful enough to handle His work with utmost care.
Stewardship over our lives, and the lives of the people whom we care for in the family, offices and congregations, and the resources that has been committed into our hands for care.
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. [2 Corinthians 5:10] NIV.
Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house. Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. “Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,” bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future. But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory. [Hebrews 3:1-6] NIV.
All believers in Christ should follow the foundation of truth, faithfulness and righteousness laid by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who has made us children of God, and in whose righteousness and likeness we are.
If you are a Christian indeed, you should wear the likeness of Christ and be like Him in righteousness and faithfulness to God.
God’s Provision is Sufficient
We see how God in His wisdom and love created all things and made every provisions ready even before making man Adam, ensuring that all needs of Adam and Eve were met before they were created. It is important and rewarding to know and understand that God has appointed His perfect timing for you as a believer in Christ, so that you do not listen to the voices of circumstances and difficulties of this life which may be speaking contrary to the will and timing of god for you. The keyword is to believe in God, and wait for His perfect timing.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. [Matthew 6:33] ESV.
If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment. [Job 36:11] NIV.
If you accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and Savior, and follow after His righteousness to do the will of God, your days shall be full of prosperity and your years will be spent in contentment.
Faith in New Beginnings
The life people live in this world is full of difficulties, and many if not all fully understand that life in this present world is full of suffering, pain and struggles.
The chaos and difficulty mankind encounter in this world began after the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden. For Adam and Eve listened and obeyed the devil and the result was sin, curse, suffering and death.
Genesis chapter 1 tells us that the world was without form, and that darkness covered the earth before God stepped in for creation, and to bring about the new beginning on the earth and to change formlessness to beauty, and darkness to light.
No matter how difficult and ugly your life situations may be, God can and will restore us and make something beautiful in your life.
When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. [Matthew 8:1-3] NIV.
What situation can be as pathetic as that of this man with leprosy, for he has been an outcast from the community having no one to associate with because lepers in Israel are labelled as unclean people? Nevertheless, he continued to trust in God and to search for hope, and healing, and he finally found Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior of all mankind, who loves us and gave His life on the cross and shed His own blood so that we may be saved.
Jesus Christ is always and ever ready, and willing to help and save those who come to Him from sins, and any oppression from the kingdom of darkness. Christ came so that we all may have life and have it more abundantly.
Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. [John 10:7-10] NIV.
It was to destroy the work of the devil in the lives of people that Christ came to the world. He died for you on the cross of Calvary so that you may have life when you receive Him into your life as your Lord and Savior.
You will have the nature of Christ (the nature of righteousness) if you will be willing to accept Him now into your heart as your Lord and Savior, so that He will destroy the nature of sin (destroy the work of the devil) in your life.
The Son of God (Jesus Christ) was made the Son of Man, so that He can make sons of men to become sons of God.
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He (Jesus Christ) is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He (Christ) is pure. [1 John 3:1-3] NKJV.
And (Jesus Christ) hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. [Revelation 5:10] KJV.
God Almighty has made every provision for you through His dear Son, Jesus Christ so that you can be made a child of God, and be counted among kings and priests in the Kingdom of God.
Will you accept Jesus Christ, the Son of God today as your Lord and Savior so that you can be made a son of God, and inherit eternal life in heaven?
Are you ready to confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and Savior?
If your answer is yes, then pray this prayer of repentance and salvation.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE AND SALVATION
Lord Jesus, for too long I have kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation into my soul. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to this world. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the Cross of Calvary for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior now and forever. Amen.
If you have prayed this prayer with all your heart, you are now born again, and you are a child of God.
Praise be to God Almighty, and congratulation!
